In addition to the highly structured practice materials of Englissian, would it be a good idea to recommend that clients watch evening news programs? I wonder if those specific broadcast journalists might provide good models of American-style English.
Many newscasters have a very specific speaking style that we would not normally hear in conversational speech, so I would be cautious with this. If you do recommend this, make sure that you recommend listening to specific newscasters that you have vetted. You could also recommend TV series that have actors with neutral (or neutral enough) accents. This would be a bigger benefit as many students also need to work on natural wording, phrases, expressions.
