Assessing the language level before beginning the program is essential and extra hours need to be included. If the student cannot afford the extra hours, then the overall goals really need to be specific with clear targets within the defined hours.
I think that addressing the high-frequency errors within the pronunciation sessions is the minimum as you go along. Personally, I would highlight other language errors and perhaps make a weekly language update for the student to think about. Raising awareness of language difficulties is essential. The student should realize the importance of having good language skills to increase the ability to be understood and might decide to invest more time in it with add-on hours.
